James O' Rance

It's very hard to get a good photo of James; he always ends up with red eyes and red blotchy skin. The two images here came from the same source - after a lot of cleaning one was duotoned red/yellow with the color balance tool, and one went through a complex series of layer work. For those who asked how this was done:

From the bottom:

• The cleaned image, converted to greyscale
• The cleaned image, inverted, heavily blurred, set to dodge/opacity 53%
• The cleaned image, set to overlay
• Hue/Saturation for skin
• Lightening for hair
• White mask to eliminate background
• James eyes, modified by curves
• Color overlay for the eyes, opacity 24%
• Curves adjustment for the eyes
